Foley Caterpillar Project Manager John Fennimore Talks Universal Technical Institute | UTI

John Fennimore, project manager for Foley Caterpillar, first met with Foley at a career fair when he was a student at Universal Technical Institute (UTI). John says UTI's structure and emphasis on professionalism and attendance has helped him grow in his career. He says he wouldn't be in his position today if it wasn't for UTI.The demand for diesel technicians is great, and according to John, many people are surprised by the amount of diesel engines that are powering essential machinery, like generators for data centers.John says his work as a technician for 6 years gave him the experience he needed to become a better manager. Since he has experience being a technician and working on the same equipment and types of projects as those he manages, his leadership style is more effective.UTI's Diesel Technician Training program is 45 weeks and is offered at 11 locations across the country. Students learn how to perform repair services, diagnose problems and replace diesel parts. UTI also offers specialized advanced training on trucks and engines from brands including Cummins, Freightliner, Peterbilt, and Daimler Trucks North America. For more information regarding diesel training programs at Universal Technical Institute, visit https://www.uti.edu/programs/dieselFor additional information on specific courses, tuition and admissions, view UTI’s course catalogs at https://www.uti.edu/programs/catalogsUTI offers employment assistance to students and graduates.
