Cristine Flores on Bondurant High Performance Driving School and Universal Technical Institute

Cristine Flores grew up on the island of Guam, living the island life, going to the beach and hanging out with friends. She didn’t have a lot of automotive experience before attending Universal Technical Institute (UTI), but wrenching with her brother made her realize the automotive world was something she wanted to pursue in a career.Since graduating UTI, Cristine works for the Bondurant High Performance Driving School as an automotive technician. Her job includes looking at the class schedule and seeing what vehicles are needed for class. Then she checks tires, brakes and fluids to make sure each vehicle is ready to run. Student safety is a top priority, so Cristine examines vehicles from front to rear to find any issues.Cristine’s favorite part of her job is running the Demon drag racing program at the school. She says the look on a student’s face when they get into an 800-horsepower vehicle and launch is exhilarating. For anyone looking to get into the field, Cristine says UTI is a great place to start with the education and hands-on training you need to succeed. She says UTI molded her into becoming a great technician. Looking back, she says going to UTI was the best decision she made, since it has provided her with many opportunities to grow in her career. For more information regarding automotive training programs at Universal Technical Institute, visit https://www.uti.edu/programs/automotive.For additional information into specific courses, tuition and admissions, see the course catalogs at https://www.uti.edu/programs/catalogsTo find the nearest UTI or MMI School near you, visit https://www.uti.edu/locationsUTI offers employment assistance to students and graduates.
