President of Birclar Talks Electro-Mechanical Industry and Why Training Matters | UTI

Kevin Toor, president of Birclar Electric and Electronics, has been in the business of electro and electro-mechanical work nearly his entire career, from sales to floor work and more. In that time, he’s learned what it takes to succeed in this industry and shares with us in this video. As a company that handles medium-to-high voltage on a daily basis, a basic ground knowledge of electricity and safety is critical to this industry. That’s why getting formal training is so important—according to Kevin, it sends a message to the employer that you know safety regulations and you have the drive.“We like people that are really interested in excelling and advancing, starting from the ground floor, so to speak, like your graduates... that’s really kind of what we’re looking for,” he explains.*Kevin says this industry has a lot to offer, from working hands-on in order to solve complex problems to collaborating with engineers and many people from different backgrounds. If this sounds like a career you’d want to pursue, the Robotics & Automation Technician program could be a great option for you!
