Automation is coming everywhere.”His passion for teaching and the industry is palpable, and he's committed to the growth of his students, as he tells us.“It basically means everything for me to be able to pass along my knowledge on to someone else and see them succeed,” he expresses.*The Robotics & Automation Technician program is divided into sections, each one designed to develop the students' critical thinking skills."The ability to look at a problem and creatively solve it is what we strive to instill in our students," he explains.There's a common fear that automation might take jobs away, but according to him, it's simply moving jobs to a different skill set. He emphasizes the need for individuals who understand robotics and automation. "The graduates from here [can] have their skill set applied in manufacturing, warehouses, maintenance, engineering – in a number of things like instrumentation, controls, and even testing. His experience spans from working on baby jets to an Airbus A380 in diverse departments like regionals and cargo. He’s currently working at Endeavor Air as a motor maintenance operations tech rep and loving it!"What do I love about aviation in general? It’s something new every day,” John tells us. “It’s something most people don’t get to do and it’s a small world."His workdays are never the same. One day could be regular routine work, and the next could involve engine changes and road trips to bring aircraft back into service.His education and aviation training have been instrumental in his success.*"It means the world. Well, about as close as it gets."It started when I had my AC put in at my old house and I really liked it," he said. Intrigued by the process, he shadowed the installer, and before long, fell in love with the profession. It wasn't long after that he found himself enrolling at a school he'd come to appreciate greatly.*“I’ve been doing it for three years now and I love it,” he proclaims. He’s currently employed at Technical Hot and Cold as an HVAC technician, working on furnaces and AC units.Bosman’s time in the HVACR Technician program was nothing short of transformative. This program equips students with the necessary skills to secure jobs in various fields including wind turbine technicians, energy technicians, operators, boiler operators as well as diesel,” Ken says.*Ken’s journey into this field wasn’t linear. In fact, he had a couple of other career paths before this one. He dabbled in various manufacturing jobs after leaving the military but none of them were the right fit for him.After completing his education at MIAT, he was asked to stay on and teach. Two years later, he became the Program Director.Ken's passion for teaching stems from his desire to help others exceed their own expectations.“A lot of people come in with a preconceived idea of what their goals are, and they quickly find out that there’s so much more than what they thought.
